Summary: Obtaining a concealed carry weapons permit is getting easier these days but it does not mean it is entirely necessary to have one. This article talks about how university police departments share their reports of criminal activity with the college kids. Depending on whether the campus or city in which the campus is in has a high level of crime, it might not be essential whether or not to have a weapon with you at all.

Synthesis: The last couple articles have been detailing whether or not the crime rate will go up or down depending on whether or not people carry concealed weapons. This article describes whether or not the level or crime committed makes it sensible to carry a concealed weapon.

Critical thinking: This is a good point to consider when deciding whether or not to get a concealed carry permit and buy a weapon. It is good to point out that a permit can actually cost you about a hundred dollars not including the cost of the weapons which is very pricey. So it wouldn't make any sense to go out and buy a permit and weapon if the area you were in didn't have that much crime. I think that this is the smartest route when determining whether or not to get a concealed weapon. The police have an obligated duty to report any instances to everyone at the university so that they are aware. “since the ostensible purpose of campus firearms policies is to improve campus safety, describing the actual incidence of crime on campus might help clarify the issues over which the MoreGuns/BanGuns camps are contending”. What this quote is saying is that it helps to determine whether or not a campus should allow guns is determined by what the police decide to report to the public.

Questions: What level or criminal activity determines whether or not a gun should be purchased? This question is different for everyone because it involves their personal safety. If they feel like they need the weapons to protect themselves from every crime in the books then they should buy a concealed carry weapon.
