Fight Over Gun Restrictions Heats Up

Summary: This article explains a lot about how many states and organizations in the US vote for the elimination of gun laws and restrictions. The main points of argument is if the person actually has to have a permit, by allowing anyone over the age of 18 and carries a legitimate license can buy and carry a weapon, and letting these people have more access to public buildings and places. People believe that limiting the gun laws hasn't had any effect on the crime rate. The relaxed concealed carry limitations has received a lot of recognition and support.

Synthesis: This article is actually following up and agreeing more with the last article I analyzed. These articles both supported the elimination of limitations and regulations of concealed carry policies. More and more states were eliminating some regulations in response to a civilian in Florida that got shot. They want their citizens to be able to protect themselves.

Think: I think that it is a better idea to eliminate some of the regulations on concealed carry weapons. It is true that the crime rate has definitely gone down in states that allowed concealed carry weapons. This allows more people to defend themselves and the people around them in a bad situation. What I don't agree with is people being able to purchase a weapon when they're 18 and not having to get a permit. People should at least be educated in what they are buying, as well as learning how to handle and shoot the gun.

Question: One of the questions that keeps arising in my research is how old should you be to be able to buy a gun. Some articles say states allow you to be 18 and older, and some say 21 and older. Another question that arises is where are you allowed to take the gun regarding state lines. I believe that the should be a regulation allowing concealed carry everywhere to make it easer on people wanting to travel with their weapons. This would really help people out because the ones with concealed carry wouldn't have to try and appease whatever states they were passing through
