My article I researched discusses an  immense amount of information regarding the death penalty. It covers such a wide range that it provides me with so much information. Most of the information if not all are facts, not opinions. It is giving actual account of actual events providing accurate information. It gives information on facts such as: amount of sentencing per year, preferred punishment for murder, dates when major events involving the death penalty happened, and much more. It also talks about trends. What is common in the law enforcement and how they handle these types of crimes and punishments. Next it talks about the innocent. It discusses certain cases in detail of actual events where the death penalty was given and the victim was proven innocent. There is much more information but these are the topics I want to focus on because they provide me with other information that I have no found in my earlier research.
This article not only provides me with such a wide range of facts, which is exactly what I was looking for to support my other research, but gives me in depth actual accounts of cases where the death penalty was issued. This support my previous article where the opinion discussed the idea of innocence and how the death penalty can be issued to those where they did not have enough money, the proper attorney, race, or many other factors that lead to their death but later found out they were innocent. I like this article because it allows me to support my claim with facts and actual accounts giving my essay a more convincing feel.
This article has not so much affected my thinking process but more supported my previous research. It supports almost all my previous sources in statistics rather than opinions. I really needed more facts in order to make my essay stronger. I did not find any new huge issue on the death penalty new in this article. I wanted to focus more on the articles I already have and really get more in depth information about each of them and their opinions to have a greater research base. This article did just that. My viewpoints are persuaded back to my original views on this issue because I do not support the death penalty and think it should be abolished completely. Although this article gives facts I really like the idea of giving real life accounts of criminals proven innocent after they were already executed. This goes to show the death penalty is not always right and has major flaws. Flaws is something I really want to focus on. This system is corrupt on so many levels.
I think this article has answered many of my questions I might have wondered about before. I think the focus I want to lean more toward after this article is the focus on the flaws of the death penalty. Is their flaws? How major are they? and how often do they happen? I think by researching these questions it will allow me to come up with major results and major opinions in order to fully support my research. These are the only questions I have left unresolved and I do not plan on letting them be unanswered. I stated before I want to focus on the flaws as a major component to my essay and by reading this article it has focused my questions to go into a topic I think I originally wanted to focus on.
