Journal 5
Summary: Consumers have to choose between Android and iOS when purchasing a phone so the article discusses their perception of each and the advantages of both. According to the article there are not significant differences between each generally speaking. The differences come from small details based from opinions. Things like comfortableness, and complexity affect a buyers decision.
Synthesis: This article differs from a few other articles I've read because it is saying that there are not really significant differences between operating systems; instead there are only subtle changes to them what people like more than the other.
Critical Thinking: This article made me take a step back and look at the average consumer and not a tech junkie. In the average consumer's eye they might only see two phones that download similar apps, send texts, receive calls and so forth. In this respect I can see how they find the phones and operating systems similar. From my point of view I see two entirely different forms of operating systems. One that is simple yet extremely effective in what it does and another that is capable of so much because of its openness. If I weren't interested in doing different things than what my phone was equipped with outside the box I could see how they are similar.
Questioning: I learned to consider normal or not so tech savvy individuals in my research. I still need to find more information of the Apple iOS side of things as well as more direct arguments. My next step is to find more relevant sources because I am running out.
