Source: DeGennaro, Donna. "Learning Designs: An Analysis Of Youth-Initiated Technology Use." Journal Of Research On Technology In Education (International Society For Technology In Education) 41.1 (2008): 1-20. Business Source Premier. Web. 9 Oct. 2014.

Summery: This article asserts that technology is benefiting kids in learning environments. It says that technology in schools is helping students learn better and faster than traditional methods. It also says that more research needs to be done as it comes to this conclusion through one small case study. A sample argument from the article is that technology allows students to be in contact with their teachers much more than before. Through instant messaging and email students can ask their teacher a question and receive a response in as little as a few minutes.

Synthesis: This article directly refutes my last article. my last article explained how technology has failed in schools as it is nothing but a distraction and can lead to cheating. This new article contradicts that claim, saying that the technology is a benefit to schools, and more schools should be using more advanced technology to help instruct their students.

Think: I thought this article raised some very valid points on this issue, but it also neglected others. This article did however remind me of how much easier school can be with the use of technology. Not for the sake of cheating, but for the fact of research and being able to instantly contact instructors for help.

Plan: I still have not found a very good article on the psychology of technology and its effects on kids. This is still my goal as I think it is crucial to my topic and my understanding of the entirety of my topic as a whole.
